What about a phrase to sum up mainstream entertainers who use their sexual orientation as a shameless plank for the kind of creaky double entendres that would make Larry Grayson turn in his grave - that would be 'Doing a Dale'! In a similar vein, another would-be rehabilitated mainstream entertainer who stretches a severely limited repertoire of cod-John Cleese impressions and patronising confused members of the public into a vastly overpaid television career, we could call it 'Doing a Barrymore'. There must be loads more???
