When a wall has been freshly plastered should it be treated with something before it's emulsioned.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.After allowing it to dry completely give it a couple of coats of watered down emulsion before putting on the topcoats. These mists coats as they are called will seal the new plaster allowing the new paint to adhere to the plaster and help stop it from peeling or bubbling in the future. Never use PVA or similar as this may cause the top coats to bubble.
