exe. file problems

every time I download programs off the net like iTunes and morpheus (to name a few), when i go to install them it keeps saying that the main exe. file of the program could not be installed. Whats goin on?. I've removed them and re-installed them about five times and each time the same thing comes up. Is it something to do with the way my computer is set up that it won't allow any programs from the internet to be installed on my computer?. Can someone help please.

Are you running as an administrator on the computer?

If not, log into your administrator account. Make yourself an administrator by going to control panel -> user account

Cheers for the response gary. I tried that website you suggested and i thought it had fixed it but when i tried to re-install morpheus while it was installing it an error message came up saying: "Error opening file for writing: c:\programfiles\morpheus\morpheus.exe". Why does it keep saying that?

Another possibility could depend on where you download them from - quite a few P2P and torrent sites have spoof files and don't actually work ? Ive had several in the past that are basically hopeless and won't install whatever you try.
