Coconut milk
31 Answers
I want to substitute cows milk for coconut milk, but I'm a bit confused as to what I should buy? I'm talking about milk I could have on breakfast cereal, as well as to drink - not to cook with.
Thanks.
Thanks.

coconut milk in tins is quite thick and creamy and usually used for cooking indian dishes. You can get light coconut milk in a tin, which I guess is just watered down. Coconut milk is very fattening. Other dairy - free options are rice milk and oat milk- which you can get in any supermarket. Alpro do almond milk and it tastes nothing like almonds.
Thanks Chris :-)
Right. 'Milk' update: Well, it arrived and I've had it in my tea/coffee. So far so good. It didn't taste anything like I thought it would, and didn't even smell of coconuts (???) but more like a watered down milk. It was absolutely fine, and I'll be having it on my 'cereal' in the morning.
Thanks for all the help - it's much appreciated.
