Until flood water ruined my 10 reg Clio's engine, causing approximately £2,500 of damage, I had over 6 years no claims history.

My comprehensive premium, living in rural Wiltshire was around £260.00.

What I'd like to know is, what sort of premium increase I can look forward to?

Any ideas anyone?

Ask your insurer for an estimate and go from there.
They should be able to provided a tentative policy figure for when you re-new your policy.
I had £2000 work done to my renault megane about 7 years ago. It got a bit messy with who was responsible etc... The end result for me was an increase of £110. But our circumstances are different.

The first question is: had you taken out a Protected Discount option?
Also you need to check with your current insurer to see how many years a claim will set you back- for example I had one that would knock it back by 2 years
...all this info will be in the policy booklet they would have sent to you.
