I read in the paper yesterday someone has tweeted a 2 minute internet silence would be a good idea.

I think it's a nice idea albs
Just out of interest square, did anyone ever ask her what point she was.making?
No as she was a bit of a cow anyway. She used to do it every year.

Disrepectful cow to the callers and her colleagues imo
Just being awkward, by the sounds of things.

'Nice' idea, but it'd never work. I wouldn't take part it in, either.
Sorry double click....
//Disrepectful cow to the callers and her colleagues imo //

And there's the attitude I object to coming out again

It's just that arrogant assumption that everybody has to think like you and if they don't they're disrespectful cows

Like I said - simple answer - go down to the car park and observe it there - no phone nobody taking

Stop looking down your nose at people who don't want to participate in your rituals
It worked to some extent on AB last year but it really is up to the individual.
But why force your beliefs on others by deliberately phoning them when they might have wanted to join in?
Who say's it's deliberate? 11am normally passes me by without my even noticing it.

Just because it's special to you

Step outside and it's not a problem is it.

The point is you seem to think that respecting 11am should be the *default* behaviour and those who don't should be the exception.

From where I stand it's the other way around
I always observe 11/11 2 minutes silence and usually stand by a window and look out on the garden contemplating those who perished in war.
That sounds just like bl00dy mindedness sb. Regardless of her beliefs, she just showed complete disrepect for the person on the other end of the phone.
That's exactly what it was.
Maybe she could ring jtp this year, then they would both be happy.
Excellent timing of your post Baldric!
i do too, but how many know what it means, perhaps most do on here, but can't see it silencing the majority across the globe.
i shall find some space, place to pay my respects, last time i stood with lots of souls at the memorial outside Euston Station, buses quiet for once, it's two minutes and not a lot when you think about it,
Thanks Prudie, I did hang back a minute for that one.
Of course Rememberance Day is actually on Sunday this year isn't it albs so unless you work on Sundays you shouldn't have that problem.
Question Author
jtp is a rude person.

Why don't you take your work down to the car park then?

It is this Sunday indeed park.
