My neighbour is having a new roof put on and the noise is horrendous. We've had hammering and banging since eight this morning and the cats are petrified. I realise work has to be done, and they are working very har, but what is really bugging me is the van, (white of course) radio turned up to such a level that I can hear it over my telly and through doudle glazing. I asked them twice to turn it down an they have said "No problem", both times, only for the volume to go back up again shortly afterwards.

Ideas/suggetions please before I go out and leather someone?

In the OP.
take the keys out of the van and tell them they can have them back when they are finished.....x
and add that you have been polite so far and they are rude pigs.....! x
what I meant Squad was that its WHO you ask to turn the radio down that matters - I can ask/tell/yell at an apprentice to turn down the radio and 10 minutes later its back up -ask an older guy on the site and usually its turned down or off -and stays off.
Borrow the go compare cannon.
A few years ago, before I had a stroke, I'd have turned it off myself and if anybody had objected I'd have turned him off as well.

Thanks for the responses, it was a case of getting it off my chest more than anything, and was upset at the upset the cats are suffering; they are petrified. It's nearly dark now so they will have to finish, and I'll be chatting with the chappie next door when he comes home.
