I am trying to fix my Mum's printer which will not pick up any colour except black. I I try to print anything, the only bits that print are the black bits.....any ideas?

Colour Cartridge dried up or empty? Have a look under the maintenance settings and see if you can print a test page.

If the printer hasn't been used for quite a long time try standing the print head of the colour cartridge in a saucer of hot (not boiling!) water until it cools then dab the print head with a paper tissue to see if the colours have started to flow again.
Also clean the metal contacts on the cartridge with methylated spirits to remove any greasy finger prints.

If you can't fix it and it is an HP cartridge you may be eligible for a replacement. Read the packet for warranty.
