Missed Oppurtunity

On Tuesday the Phone rings .

A female on the other end ( with accent from the asian continent ) tells me she is from some company - the name I cant remember . She wants to speak to Mrs Bazile

What is it all about ? , i enquired
The company wants to buy my wife's Centrica shares she replied .

Oops , i accidentally hung up .

Aprox 2 minutes later , phone rings
A male on the other end asks to speak to Mrs Bazile .
What is it all about I enquired .
The company wants to buy my wife's Centrica shares .
Oops , i acidentally hung up again .


Wednesday , phone rings .
A male on the other end ( same sounding male from yesterday ) states the company wants to buy my wifes Centrica shares from her .

Just to clarify , you want to buy my wife's Centrica shares from her , i asked .
Yes says male ?

Oops phone gets accidentally hung up again .

I wondering now - did we miss an oppurtunity to get a good price for her shares - damn it !!!

Surely shares in a plc such as Centrica can only be traded on the Stock Exchange via a licensed broker/dealer ? Isn't private trading such as proposed here illegal ?
