I hope one of you clever people out there can give me at least a pointer in the right direction. i have trawled every avenue I can think of with this question. I am looking for something that happened for the first time on June 1st 1951 .
The clue letters are P B P D . I am crossing my fingers , thanks in advance .

Is there any chance that the year might be wrong ie. 1957 instead of 1951 because there was an event in that year on that date that covers PB and D but not certain about the second P. I presume this is from a quiz, but not one I know. Anyway just a thought.

As soon as I logged off last night I realised what the second P was so pretty sure year is wrong. Can you check with the setter?

I was on the right lines, but couldn't link it to any earlier than 1956.
Are we passing on our answer now, or letting jacdo have another go?

Just a guess but is it Premium bonds?

Tilly2 I purposely didn't give an answer but a very clear clue as Jacdo needs to check the year. If she does then Googling the date will bring up the answer. I think it's more satisfying to do the work yourself.

Premium Bonds is not the answer to PBPD. It's only half an answer. If it's right!
