All filled in, the name of the pseudonym (the longer one) is highlighted and I've got the setter.
But, what I don't understand is: "while the equivalent remnants of the pseudonym of the other must be highlighted in an unclued entry"
Could someone point me in right direction - thanks

The setter's name is the pseudonym, slightly altered, of the longer name.
The shorter name also has a pseudonym - if you alter it (in the same way that everything else has been altered), you will be left with a v short word/couple of letters. This appears in one of the unclued entries - I don't have the paper now, but I think it was in the top left corner.Does this help?

Hi Neveracrossword, I have the longer pseudonym's real name starting in the top left hand corner.
The shorter pseudonym I have a three letter word that is the setter, if I then shorten that I have his real initials, is that what I have to highlight? If so they are in a normal (not uncled ) answer, or am I on the wrong track completely?

The longer name's pseudonym is the setter - just remove one letter.
The shorter name's pseudonym has three letters - if you remove one, you are left with 2 letters, and these are at the start of one of the unclued answers ( a down answer). That was the other bit of highlighting I did.

Ripper: You do really need to find the shorter real name. For this purpose the central letter in the grid is paramount., as it is for the longer name.
