3 weeks ago I got the bug- cold, cough, pain behind thé eyes, laryngitis etc and chest infection. I had 5 days of antibiotics as I'm asthmatic and have a tendency to get pleurisy. It's now the fourth week
and I still cannot sleep for coughing, am still getting a painful burning in my chest when I cough and my throat is still hoarse. My tonsil arches look stretched and like big twopennys. Is there anything I can do? I assume it's viral so is there any point in bothering the doctor?

Thanks Sqad. Doc came over and has given me more (different) antibiotics. I don't know if it's allergic asthma or COPD- it is the sort you get alongside eczema as a kid, so I guess allergic. I feel no energy and headache and glandy. Not sure that antibiotics will help but I feel I must try something!
