Beer glass or jug
11 Answers
I have a friend that is suffering from bad arthritis in his hands but loves going to the pub for a pint or two the problem being he is finding it almost impossible to lift up a conventional glass or beer mug with one hand, he said if he could find a two or twin handled beer glass it would solve his problem but search as I may I have drawn a blank, does anybody know if such a thing exists? I know you can get two handled tea or coffee mugs but of course they will not hold a proper pint, I just cannot believe that a twin handled beer jug has not been made for people who suffer medical conditions and need two use two hands to lift things, any help on finding one would be very much appreciated.

No alba it wasn't your imagination, I've still got my own pint pot, engraved and presented to me for some work I did for a local charity complete with the official "Pint Line". It lived in the pub that I could see out of my front window for many years until the pub was knocked down about five years ago, nearly all the regulars had their own pots which hung above the bar, the tradition being that you were award an engraved pot by the landlord after you'd been using the pub regularly and participated in any of the charity events they ran.
The old system where customer had their own glass behind the bar is a victim of the EU bureaucrats , the law says that 'food' , which includes drinks, must be served in 'clean containers' this had been interpreted as meaning that a clean glass must be used for each drink. So even If your personal glass had the correct line and stamp it would have to be washed before it could be refilled for a second pint.
