i have just been moved from incapacity benefit to the new employment and support. i have always been paid on wednesday but no money went into the bank. i rang the benefit centre and was told my new pay date is now on fridays.when i asked about the 2 days benefit i would miss i was told it was unfortunate but i lose the 2 days because of a benefit change. i just wondered if anyone else has been caught out and i thought mr cameron said nobody would lose out financially because of the benefit change.

I'm not sure this is legal, usually you are paid pro rata for any odd days if there is a benefit switch. Someone with proper knowledge will be along no doubt but I'm fair sure they can't just decide you have to lose two days.

Most benefits pay a certain amount in advance - so the chances are you are not missing out on any of your benefits.

The Benefits Agency can be flippant when dealing with people . I have fallen foul of them too. Mr Cameron could not live as we have to.

you should not lose at all..the odd two days ought to be added to your first esa payment..if not get onto them !

fried..was benefit manager and I know of no benefits paid in advance ...although that may have changed

I always thought it was a week in arrears and a week in advance.
The thought of losing 2 days is dreadful.

could be nowadays Albs..makes recovering overpayments a problem then...perhaps local cab will help ?...often it is knowing who to speak to and what terminology to use..they will have experienced this one already no doubt..

several are paid one week in arrears and one week in advance, child benefit is paid 3 weeks in arrears and 1 week in advance.
