Asbestosis Helpline

Does anyone know of a private person/helpline/group for the above? A friend of ours has asbestosis and needs to ask some questions regarding his compensation claim, etc. (he doesn't want to contact solicitors) Is there a private careline or help group in England ? I believe there is one in the North of England who was helpful to another friend of mine a couple of years ago (he rang them up and they were really caring) Does anyone know what they are called? I imagine it to be some type of Asbestosis Group. There are so many companies wanting to help, on the internet, but that is not what we want. Many thanks.

The helpline you're talking about is

"Anyone who has been diagnosed as having an asbestos related disease or who has been exposed to asbestos can call the helpline on 0808-100 0088 between 0900hrs-1700hrs, Monday to Friday, and seek information on a range of matters from benefits to industrial injury claims"

But that report is a few years old, I don't know if they're still there. Good Luck.
