I am looking for some glow in the dark paint, I have seen some paint classed as neon, which will glow under black light. I am rubbish at science, but can I assume that this will not glow under normal household lighting and that black light is something different :)

I'm steve i'm a glow in the dark artist.
UV / Neon/ fluorescent paint only works under a UV blacklight.
And your right normal house hold lights won't work
However glow in the dark phosphorescent paint is a paint that contains natural
rare earth crystals which are charged by natural UV sunlight or normal household lights or a UV blacklight torch which will super charge the crytals.
Once charged they can glow upto 24hrs, The green is the brightest.

you will need a UV torch or UV lamp for the Fluorescent paint
for the paint to glow.

Glow in the dark paint has phosphorescent crystals that are charged by natural uv sun light or any form of light them release the uv charge back out.
you can see this best in a dark room.

thank you, I made the craft things I wanted using glow in the dark paint (not the neon one) and told the recipients to either expose the said items to natural sunlight or another uv light source for as long as possible in order to reactivate the paint. I did buy an uv torch to check that where I had applied the paint had indeed worked.
