Sunday trips out

Sorry wasn't sure which catagory to list this. We live in the Stockport area and every other week my mum who is 84 comes to stay for the weekend. Me and my daughter are at a loss of where to go for a few hours, we go to Wyevale garden centre in Marple most Sundays but would like a change, does anyone have any ideas.

I don't know Stockport or surrounding area, have you got any historical buildings to have a look around?
(Scrub that, if they are anything like mine in my area, they'll be closed)

You could try signing up to www.Wherecanwego.com It's a website which lists a wide range of free and paid-for events happening across the country. Simply feed in your post code and it will list the events for any given time period and within a specific radius selected by you

What about Quarrybank Mill, or go to Manchester. Lovely art galleries, then there is Bramhall Hall, Macclesfield silk museum, look at the views from Teg's Nose or Wildboarclough.
We used to live in the area and there is loads to do.
