24 Hour Party People song

In the film it shows the happy mondays singing a song. The Ian Curtis charachter is singing along in the crowd. All I remember are the lyrics 'We gotta go' or something that sounds familiar.

Anyone know what song it was?

Are you sure it was Ian Curtis? he was dead long before the Mondays were formed- i dont remember the scene in the film and not a mad Mondays fan but if you can clarify the scene i might know it.

Im nearly 100% sure it was Curtis singing along to the Mondays song.

I did think it was strange myself since he died in something like 80/81, and the mondays werent really famous then.

I cant remember exactly where the scene was in the film mate, but thanks for the help anyway.

wasnt it louie louie? and the postman bloke who kept jumping on stage sang it earlier, then later in the film the whole of the hacienda were singing it?

Its Louie Louie credited to The Factory allstars! Thinking back (i havent seen the film in a bit) Curtis does appear a couple of times after he dies. He's in the crowd at the end in the Hac so it was probably in the scene at the Mondays gig. I must admit i was more interested in working out where that scene was filmed.

as far as i rememver from the dvd extras they built a set of the Hac. everyone was amazed just how accurate it was

I was 'very familiar' with the original hac. It had been demolished by the time the film was made so they had to rebuild it. I didnt go to the filming but lots of my mates went and they said it was spooky cos it was exactly the same. On the 24 HPP website there is a 360 panorama of the set - i remember it being a bit dirtier but very very accurate.
