Hangover
It could be a dust or animal dander allergy. Ask your Dr for a RAST test to rule these out
I had very similar symptoms to yours which totally disappeared when we got a new bedroom carpet! (we inherited the previous one)
Could you possibly be allergic to the feathers in your pillow or your duvet? We swapped our goosedown duvet for a polyester one and find this much more satisfatory.

could be sleeping with the heating on. I turn the heating off at night (well its on a timer) and I open the wiondow just a tiny bit even in the coldest weather just for some fresh moist air.

Like the others say, it does sound like allergy, probably to the house dust mite. I would also council you to change your bedding, possibly the matress if it is very old (or buy an anti allergy matress protector) you can also buy these for pillows and duvets too. Vacuum regularly and change the curtains to blinds. Keep soft furnishings down to a minimum. I had to do this with my son who has a sever dust mite allergy and suffers badly with asthma as a result....

good luck with it.

You can get 'hayfever', properly known as rhinitis, all year round. I do!

It does sound like a general rhinitis/allergy thing. How long have you had the symptoms? The headache isn't really indicative of allergy, but do you have pain at the top of your nose, namely your sinuses? Again this would indicate an allergy.

There are so many variables... Has anything recently changed, like bedding, etc? If so you might well have disturbed the dust, which will take some time to settle. Has anything else changed in your environment and life - new job, new pet, etc?

Hi

Yes I concur with the posts above - I too suffer from 'hayfever' all year. get yourself some antihistimine

Actually, rhinitis just means inflammation of the nose or nasal passages. It does not specifically mean hayfever, just thought you might like to know
seasonal allergic rhinitis however does pretty much mean hayfever but its the first part of this that counts seeing as otherwise all you have is a stuffy nose!

Stuffy nose, dry mouth is because you are breathing through your mouth.Get your Doctor to prescribe a steriod nasal spray to take down the swelling have a anti-histamine[Piriton] when going too bed, works for me good luck I know how miserable you feel.

Thanks for all your advice - I am seeing my doc tomorrow and will hopefully get proper medication. I also have Tinnitus in one ear which is driving me nuts. Maybe it is all linked up? ...Kind regards to all those who replied- even the silly person who thought I had an hangover! Happy Christmas..
