Is it really virtually impossible to break a toe?

My clever line manager commented on my broken toe absence back in july/august and said, 'it wasn't broken it was sprained, the sick note said sprained on it'. Now, unbeknown to him I always keep copies of anything like a sick note and my copy clearly says, 'toe fracture'. In 2006 some on here may remember a previous injury I inflicted on myself when I dropped a heavy plate glass shelf vertically onto my left foot and severed 2 toes and crushed the third, was that not a break or were they just sprained? Maybe I had carried out the virtually impossible without realising? So, is a fracture actually a sprain and I've managed to live 57+ years and think otherwise?

I broke my big toe some years ago and remember seeing the X-ray which clearly showed the fracture.

no the ones i severed were back in 2006, do you not remember that? a girl screamed because it was thundering outside the dhop Debenhams) at the exact moment i had turned a glass shelf over and i dropped the shelf on my toes. this time the bone was only split in half, the toe itsself was ok lol
it's obvious to me that if its a bone it can be broken
Crikey, I remember that Dot...hard to believe it was 6 years ago.
But they weren't severed as in chopped off were they?

one was another bone was completely detached, when I went to hospital with this last injury the nurse showed me the damage to the middle toe that could be seen on the xray, it looks totally wrong, kind of like a lump where it should narrow, she said it's where the bone has heeled. the next toe to the big toe never moves and has no feeling, that was the detached one. guess the nerves are shot.

this was the day it happened before i went for an xray

Feel free to punch him in thew face and then when he howls ' You've broken my nose!' say ' Nah it's just sprained mate'. Idiot man.
I can't understand why you're so bothered by an off-the-cuff remark made by an idiot not fit to kiss your @rse who will be gone shortly anyway. Stop wasting your time/worry on the cretin, he's not worth it.
Of course it is possible to break toes.
I broke one when I kicked someone, forgetting I was wearing flip flops. I also had one broken when a wheelchair ran over my foot.
Rofl @ the norah virus, does that make your stockings fall down round your ankles?!
