Doomsday. Are you prepared?
This is an interesting article, and the documentary will make for good viewing.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think they have the right idea... or are they just plain crazy?

There is a phrase that has been around, with some minor tweaks, for quite some time.
"Any society is only three square meals away from revolution".
Authorship is a bit obscure.
What is true is that the most advanced civilisations are heavily dependent upon its infrastructure - power, water, food supplies etc - that supports it, and were a major catastrophe to occur, that infrastructure would be stressed. And it can be quite frightening how quickly people in groups and mobs can revert to the most primitive and atavistic responses, with mindless violence.
So, if you think that humanity is in imminent danger of catastrophe, then it might be considered only sensible to make some provision for survival. However, I personally can see little evidence of such a threat, and the people showcased in the article just seem somewhat obsessed with the doomsday scenario. It is interesting that many seem to have a belief in some of the less evidence based conspiracy theories doing the rounds at the moment......

That is an amazing result from my experiment, not one single 'it's a none story' and only one comment from a solitary anti Daily Mail Brigade member.
Must use this tactic when I once again, dare to provide a Daily Mail thread.
But then I won't get too excited, it could be due to the fact that the provider of this thread hasn't the name 'anotheoldgit'.

That video was brilliant! They are all intelligent people. Far from "crazy"!
LG, The UK version is on tonight, 6pm and I think it will be interesting to see the difference between the two. The people I have just watched on the American version are very practical and are storing all the things you mention, water, food supplies and also fuel.
Bazile, Haha nice try. I don't think it's going to end - neither do preppers.
AOG, awww. I'm sure it's not like that really. You are a well-respected member of this site :-)
DT, Lol. How predictable!

One bloke in Slovakia eating rabbit and shooting dear. one bloke with lots of food and a knife. One bloke with a radio hobby. One bloke with camouflage trousers, tattoos and a little net for catching rodents.
