Pegeout 307 51 Plate
Had my car serviced recently - including change of air filter / plugs , which i hoped would cure an excessive fuel consumption .
I didn't realise that fuel mixtures / intake / settings , are controlled by a CPU on cars nowadays , so there is nothing that can be adjusted - I was told by the mechanic .
Would a Peugeot Planet diagnostic machine ( from looking at the internet ) be able to point to a reason for excessive fuel consumption .

With respect, you do not get much now for £20. Do not take your car to the likes of K.F.+ Hal fords or the dealer, they will rip you off, look for your local family run garage.
An example of 'late braking' would be : approaching a line of stopped vehicles at the lights operating the accelerator and leaving it there and braking late instead of looking ahead, easing off the throttle and coming smoothly to a halt with the minimum of braking. Result: a smoother ride for any passengers, reduced wear of brake pads, and less fuel consumption. (Modern engines use NO fuel when the throttle is closed)
