Labelled as Gluhwein as it's German.
This is a recipe for Mulled Fruit Nectar Scarlett, and it was served with the biggest mince pies in the world after a rather posh Carol Service - and it is gorgeous! Serves about 7 people.
2 12-ounce cans apple juice
1 12-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate, frozen orange (or equivalent if you can't find frozen)
1 cup cranberry juice
3 sticks cinnamon (about 2 1/2 inches each) broken in half
1 teaspoon cloves whole
Orange slices or additional cinnamon sticks (optional)
At least 20 minutes or up to 2 days before serving: In a 3-quart saucepan, place apple juice, orange juice concentrate, cranberry juice cocktail, broken cinnamon sticks and cloves. Over medium-high heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove and discard spices. If making ahead, cool, cover and refrigerate up to 2 days.
To serve: If made ahead, reheat. Pour hot mixture into mugs. Garnish with orange slices or cinnamon sticks if desired.
