Who needs the European Courts of Human Rights to undo Justice, when we have own own Judiciary?

This follows close on the heels of my earlier thread:

Why were they freed?
Lack of evidence. They were arrested because of an anonymous tip off.
Two innocent men released from an unjust prison sentence. Good news, I'd say.
if they didn't do it, and this story appears to say that it cannot be proven beyond reasonable doubt that they did, then surely its right that they have been released?

If they did do it then in hindsight a better case should have been made against the accused.
the judges haven't given their reasons yet. But it seems a witness was allowed to give evidence anonymously and the appeal judges objected to something about this.

The reason seems pretty clear to me.
"The hearing was held in private......" - so much for open justice then !
