MP4 to AVI on a Mac

I want convert mp4 to avi on my mac, I have visual hub, but the file has 5.1 audio which is not supported. I have downloaded video monkey but the generic formats like avi are greyed out and only native iTunes formats are available. Handbrake will only output it to mkv which is no good for what i want.

Any other options please

I'm not sure whether Avidemux will work or not. The documentation says that 'simple' MP4 files (without header compression) are recognised as an input format:

AVI is supported as an output format:
