Printing photos from USB key.

I downloaded a few photos from computer and transferred them to USB key. I then tried to get them printed in a shop photo machine but they came up as blanks on the screen.
I am able to print these photos directly from my computer to my own printer so why can't I get them printed from USB to shop photo machine ?

Depends on what file type they are.

Shops will be able to read.jpgs but it your files are RAW or from Photoshop as .psd or .dng, they may not.
Are they.jpgs ?

Sorry for delay. No , not jpgs, they were taken by a photographer and put up on a facebook site. I can print them but not in a photo shop machine. Maybe they are copyrite so if so why am i able to print them.
