Should I donate Sperm?
38 Answers
I heard a radio advert explaining that local sperm donation is being encouraged with £35 returned in payment. I am not sure ho I feel about it, other than the money would be welcome (if you get paid per donation)??
Does anyone know the criteria and what is actually involved?

I used to do this many years ago, (yes, I've always been a w@nker) and got £10 a pop. I had to leave it in to the RVH before 08:30 every second Monday, and you crack one off at home and put it into a small jar, keeping it down your pants at body temperature until you get to the hospital. I had to undergo bloods and a sperm count before acceptance, and they tell you that your donations will be terminated at any time and they will not tell you why. I got about 18 months out of it.
I'd leave the money lying until I had a decent amount and then pick it up.

I just think that I am lacking the effort and clear understanding of what is involved. I am anticipating a sexual health check and other tests to eliminate things that can be passed on etc..... Then I am guessing that until these tests come back clear and your sperm is deemed as fit for use, you wont be paid (or are you paid regardless??) If it was just "give us a sample and here is your cheque" I might go up on my lunch hour, but it seems like a lot of time out of my extremely busy schedule. Then there is the moral issue and legal issue, i dont know??
they've just decided to keep anonymity for donors, by the look of this

I think this is only through clinics. There was a guy recently being pursued for maintenance when he donated to help out a couple of lesbian friends.
