Getting songs from Windows media player onto i-tunes

Can this be done? I've been trying to get songs i've downloaded onto windows to go into my i-tunes but i can't do it. It is really annoying me. Is it actually possible to do this?

assuming you haven't ripped them from your CDs as protected windows media files (i don't think iTunes can import these), and you just have simple .wma or .mp3 files, then simply find the folder where all your music is, and drag the folder into iTunes. it should add all your stuff. you will have to convert the .wma files.

once done, hit advanced->consolidate library; and then delete your music folder with all the .wma's in it.
