Speeding up metabolism
11 Answers
Is there a simple way to speed up my metabolism? Apart from the obvious... excercise! I've heard that health food shops sell some kind of herb in tablet form, but I'm not sure what its called.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated! X

Some people seem to burn fat quicker and easier than others- but if you did research, you would more than likely see that thin people simply don't eat as much, and move around more, than overweight people. There are no quick fixes, sadly!

I remember seeing a very interesting experiment on tv a while back
They had a 'fattie' and a 'thinnie' (no offence intended!) on the same diet and the same routine for a month.
Neither lost or gained we'ight - but it was noticed that 'thinnie' was a constant fidgeter. Even sitting down reading the paper his foot was tapping away, he shifted in his seat every minute or so. Constant movement.
'Fattie' was a very still sort of person. Rarely fidgeted and had minimal body movements that weren't necessary.
So - take up fidgeting! :)
By the way - I'm not suggesting you are overweight or calling you fat! LOL

we all know that putting on weight means that the person has eaten more than they're burning off.
However, due to different body types, some people are prone to putting on weight easier than others...and that is mainly due to metabolic rates.
Exercise...in particular developing muscle mass, can increase the rate at which you burn calories. But sorry to say that there are no magic potions.
