I can see that Twitter might be useful for e.g. artistes who have a large fan base where they could tweet how last night's gig went or how the recording of the new album's progressing, i.e. things which would be of genuine interest to a significant number of people.
But I just can't understand the arrogance of some people who tweet what they're doing every half hour or so. Who could possibly be interested in that...???
thanks, MarkRae. As this was the same attitude that drove people to get websites, I suppose there is some precedent for them in thinking they need to be up with the latest media. Personally, I think Twitter isn't going to be very useful in the long run, but I could be wrong, and they could be right.
I have absolutlely no interest in the minutia of the lives of others - famous or not, and assume they feel similarly disinterested in my own life - but i accept that younger people accept this as part of their daily routine.
I find the word 'twitter' to eb entirely appropriate - meaningless noise.
