The 'Favourite Colour' thread made me think about this.

Would you class black and white as colours? I say no but others think they are. I argued with a mate for a whole night over this!

My view is that they are not in the colour spectrum so are not colours! His arguement was colours like silver and gold but they are just metallic versions of grey and yellow/orange.

Am I right or am I right?! ;)

No, I'd say they are shades.

Fine by me. Just hoping you've got a Porsche sized wallet
Actually, it's closer to a Dinky Toy size. Anyway, I'm off to have a few wobbly-pops...Cheers.
@zacs - master I look on it two ways, artistically from a photographic side and technically from a physical side......we could get onto the individual wavelengths of photon emmisions relative to the wavelengths of light...;0)
Had a metallic blue VW.

depends. If you're talking about pigments, black is a combination of all colours, white is their absence. "

Ahhhh...that means it was the artist in me who understood/thought black to be all colours. That explains it...
quite right, Avatar Image pastafreak
Lol.....
If black and white are not colours does that mean black people, or white people, officially have no colour, or are not coloured?
