Ed - who's it with?
I have recently sold back a timeshare - I bought a fixed week on a whim and having been there once, realised I wouldn't go back. Fortunately it was with the same company that we have timeshare points with, and by doing a deal I was able to convert the fixed week into floating points (and thus get the maintenance charge for the fixed week off my back).
There are timeshare resale companies which do sell (for a fee) but you often see timeshare listed on eBay - anything's worth a try!
