I presume emergency (generated) lighting comes on.. I know that if it fails where I work we have to furkle around in the cellar for the 'emergency lighting' allowing punters to bugger off without paying!!
We have strict 'trading in a powerloss' guidelines. We cannot allow members of the public to remain on the premises. We cannot of course use any of the electronic back office systems and actually last time it happened we couldn't even leave the shop by the rear shop door into the offices or stockroom as the security access keypad could not be turned off. We can only tidy and possiblt manually price stock. The phone system is also connected to the intranet which means only the manager had a mobile on him to contact the area manager and head office operations. It lasted nearly 2 hours as i recall and it was very difficult.
