I have seen them in the supermarket sometimes with two trollies absolutely piled high with food and drink, why? Half of it will be thrown away, it's ridiculous, especially when the shops will actually only be closed for two days, you would think they were stocking up for the winter. Why not just buy the normal amount of food you can actually eat without going overboard and wasting any? People are so stupid, they are like sheep.

Christmas, a holiday, time for a family to enjoy being together. Talking, relaxing, playing games, going for walks, re-connecting, having fun with children, helping them with hobby stuff which they may have received. Cooking together. Could go on... Not dashing off to the nearest supermarket. Shopping is boring, if a necessity.
I wont overbuy. In fact I'm such a stingy person, I rarely throw anything away. I've just made a chicken last for 3 days and am just about to put the carcass on to make stock for chicken soup.

Happy Christmas to you Dave. Here's hoping we see more of your bright and sunny disposition in 2013.
we've bought more because we are part of a party of 10 this Christmas.
So that they don't have to do any shopping for a fortnight or two.
My normal shopping haul is huge anyway but I don't over buy at Christmas. Might buy some 'treats' that I wouldn't usually and we have two big lunches (an extra one on Boxing Day). Nothing gets thrown away here as I plan really carefully.
I'm having 9 people over for Christmas dinner when there are normally two of us. I'm also having probably the same number again for a buffet on Boxing Day and yes, there would normally ony be two of us on that day too. Yes I buy too much but never in a million years will any of it end up in the bin. Don't you dare judge me!
