I recovered the seats on some dining chairs a few years ago but the fabric has over time got really grubby from kids sticky fingers and the colour no longer matches the the rest of the decor (I'd made matching cushions at the time but they are long gone).

What would be the best sort of fabric to use for the purpose if I was to recover them again and roughly how much of it do you think I would need to cover 4 normal sized dining chair seats. (not at home so can't give exact dimensions).

Trying to work out a rough cost but can't remember a thing about the last time other then I stupid went for an expensive fabric.

60 inch wide one metre can do as many as 4 chairs if no pattern to match... get something with a short pile that can be sponged easily or consider faux leather until the kids are older
