Last day of term tomorrow and I have got to carry 3 backpacks, 2 lunch boxes, 4 tins of quality streets, a bonsai tree, a board game and a mini pool table up to the school - I shall need the two weeks off to recover.

take the gifts for the teachers sher, they seem to be good for your kids, and you want to show that you appreciate their care!....there's nothing wrong with that!.......

Thank you Carandog, not a super mum in anyway, but nice to hear that someone thinks I am, x
Joe, what are you trying to do? I tried teaching once. I lasted one term. It is no picnic and all the holidays and evenings are spent in preparing for the next day. No thanks - those who can, teach, in my opinion and they are welcome to it. Of course evening school teaching is a different thing altogether. I could do that, and I did.

Hi welsh, I shall. They deserve them, in my opinion they go above and beyond and Daniel's teaching assistant has been fabulous. His talking is fab, loads of people can understand him and he is so confident now, such a change, x

Star, I did evening adult teaching once and hated it - as soon as I was finished I went to the pub and virtually spent the money I had earnt for the evening trying to get over it.
Each to his/her own I suppose then sher. I loved it. But the day school teachers deserve all the praise and presents of appreciation you can give them. I know I could not do it - they are heros/heroines.
so pleased that he's doing well sher, his teaching assistant deserves some appreciation!..........my daughter and family have emigrated to Australia a month ago, miss them so much, but will stay in touch with the school they went to here, it was amazing, they really care about the children, and are keeping in touch with the boys in Australia.............

I taught secondary for 16 years and it was horrible. Think primary school teachers have a more 'kind' mind set towards the children, which has been my experience since we moved here. The teachers are fabulous and have looked out for my children since they started at school, can't fault them.
Oh Sher! What a good idea. Damn! I have honestly never thought about giving the teachers a gift at Christmas. They always get them something in July, when they leave to go to a new year, but I've just never really thought of getting them something at this time of year.
That's such a nice idea, though. Really thoughtful.

Hmm, I'm sure I have a couple of tins of Crimbo biscuits that I could wrap up for the morning! :-)

Welsh, how hard for you - is this the part of the family that you moved to be nearer to? Hope they have a lovely life but so hard on you, x.

Bluestone - I'm not bloody wrapping them, I'm not that mental.
