I'm expected to go to my daughter's tomorrow where her dsaughter has had a 'viral cough' (per MD) since Thursday. As I can be asthmatic is it likely to still be infectious?

The short answer is 'yes'. The only way to avoid it would be to not go, but as you say you 'can be asthmatic' you obviously aren't a serious sufferer so you should be fine.
