Westlife songwriters! no i think not, i was told by somebody they have had 13 number ones.. incredible, theres no counting for a lack of taste is there.. i know i might be biased being a hater of this tedious ballad outfit, but i have a horrible feeling these fellas are going to have the longevity of clifford richard..arise sir westlife.
Taste is personal. I'm not mad about Westlife either but they make a reasonably pleasant sound. I have always wondered though, just who buys Daniel O'Donell's albums. Now that is bland.
I hazard a guess that many of o'donnell's record buyers also buy westlifes stuff on the basis that its very bland meeting bland...Yes dudley taste is personal..apologies to westlife fans, its nothing personal, JMHO.
"flying without wings" was written by Wayne Hector & Steve Mac. Westlife were first to record it, so whilst they didn't write it themselves it was an original song rather than a cover. It was covered in the US by an American Idol contestant.
Fair's fair, they have turned karaoke into an art form. Personally, the only way I think Westlife would make a "reasonably pleasant sound" would be if you put them all in a giant blender, but like you say, taste is personal.
