A phone scam out telling you about a competition you have won, DON'T BE TEMPTED, put the phone down ASAP, otherwise its going to cost you a lot of money.

TWR you cannot be billed for an incoming call,however if you dial the number they give you then yes you will be stung.
It appears to be by getting people to ring a Premium Rate number after receiving an automated call, although this is an old link.

factor30 is spot on by saying the emails warning you about this scam are themselves a scam.

If your phone provider is able to charge you £35.00 for one call, then I suggest you change your provider.

The original scam was doing the rounds some time ago, it was operating from Belize.

The perpetrators were caught and jailed around six or seven years ago. Since then - nothing, except people will still pass on details by email about something that isn't happening.

It's causing unnecessary worry to a lot of people.

just been searching, & there are many, regards this Comp scam, Can not find any that match this.
