2012...your Year In Review

We were discussing this round the dinner table last night so let's extend it a wee bit. What's been good or bad, wonderful or sad in 2012, i'll kick it off :

Son finally got a Radiography job 18months after graduating, dughter got a job as well. I finally got back to the Falklands after a 20 year gap, it was wonderful and I'm off again in 6 weeks time.

We haven't had too bad a year, the economy bit hard, my wife's wee business suffered a bit but is rebounding now, 2012 wasn't a bad year for us.

Over to the Abers, Happy New Year everybody!

My worst time of 2012 was the death of my beautiful son-in-law.

I have made and met some wonderful friends through AB and my Adventure Club...or Dangerous Club as SD calls it.
Two days at the Paralympics......just fantastic and the atmosphere created by the whole of the Olympics was a joy to witness....memorable!

Watching the son recover his business successfully after the ex DiL tried to ruin it.....the wax effigy worked a treat.
Seeing the daughter receive another degree and doing brilliantly at her wonderful but low paid job......proud that she has the guts to put her passion for the planet before the offers from oil companies.

Wonderful it will be if I finish the enormous curtains for daughter's bedroom before 2013.....how many hours left? Oh knickers! Better move.

A new job in February, leaving a much loved former job and some lovely people but a good move.

Finally got my skanky gallbladder out in March, big relief as it had made me really poorly.

Lost one of my gorgeous rescue cats, Nush. Currently curled up with her sister.

Gained another gorgeous nephew in August, they are the light of my life.

Adjusting to a big shift for the worse arthritis wise and other conditions but successes in my own way and some support from some amazing friends. An interesting year for finding out the strengh of some true friendships.

Logged on to Answerbank, had a birthday, spoke to the wife on July 17th.

mmmm. here goes: really bad bout of depression jan-mar as work were deciding whether i had a job or not, son passed his 1st year at uni, hubby finished his msc course (awaiting results), i started my msc course; have no money at all (despite working like a donkey and £300 in debt to the ou already); i have no idea how i am going to sort my finances out: and i knackered my back in november and still can't do anything. work are not amused to say the least.....so good for everyone else, and crap for me. hoooray!!! normaility has resumed.....x
