I have been drying a bunch of roses by hanging them upside down in a dark cupboard. How long should they stay in there?

As soon as you bring them out into the light they will start fading so once they are completely dry leave them where they are until you are ready to put them on show.
Did you know that another way to dry a flower is to bury it in sand? If you can obtain sand easily (bags of sand are sold in garden stores, for example), you might want to try that method to see if you like it better. And then you could reclaim that cupboard space!
