Could anyone explain the tecneque and method for wallpwpering astaircase. My dear dauter as persuaded her husband to decorate her sisters staircase as a birthday present. The fountain of knowledge as regards D.I.Y. is according to said daughter is me. I have in the distant past done this sort of thing but I am a little puzzled as regards the positioning of the ladder/steps to do the long drops. I wil be eternaly gratefull for any advice.

Ladders and scaffold boards Granddad. Same as we use for plastering and painting.

A really good link that. I like the bit about folding the paper concertina style as not many sites would tell you that and not doing it could cause problems with the paper stretching. The only thing I would add would be to smooth out the paper as you go and not leave it hanging as this would defeat the reason for folding it concertina style in the first place. Just hold the folded paper in one hand while smoothing out the bit you just put on the wall or get someone to hold the folded paper if you do not feel safe doing so.
