sorry quinie for being so long in coming back but question 1 whiskey nip!! and question 2 is this the one rivers of our capital thanks for any help

Here's a thought for number 2. 'Dancing the Tyburn jig' was the feet-twitching of those individuals hanged at Tyburn.
Tyburn is/was a river/brook under/through London.
1. a bit iffy - Irish Jig ? just going off whiskey spelt with an e.
I agree with quinie Scotch measure is a highland dance.

methyl.in the first posting the clue for no2 was Is this the rivers of our capital.The two clues ran into one another-that's why I asked ronreid to explain it.
