Does anyone know if any of the supermarkets are still selling these? I have relatives visiting on Friday and thought I'd make a Christmas dinner! I've been to Asda tonight but they only have huge frozen turkeys!
Some places are selling stuff cheaply to get rid of Christmas stuff. Tesco has huge whole salmons at half price. I reckon one or the other of the big supermarkets are bound to have turkey crowns. Try ringing them - they are always helpful because they want to get you into their shop where they hope you will buy more than you intended.
If you go into a supermarket with a proper butchers inside, they will more than likely do one for you as they sell turkey legs separately - you can but ask! I know Morrisons do a fresh turkey breast roast all year round
Yelenots - I got a beautiful ham £10 reduced to £5 in Iceland - so you can look - you just bake it. Try and see if they have turkey to be baked too - was £14 may be down to £7. Good luck = my neighbour said the turkey was delicious.
We've just got in from the local Tesco amongst the bits we got for the freezer was a boxed turkey crown and a turkey crown wellington at £4.00 apiece. Quite a lot of Christmas bits and pieces going cheap.
Thanks for all your replies! The meal was a success and turkey was lovely!
Paddy....I bought one of those turkey wellingtons for £4 too - hope its nice!
