Rilke was basically a Christian, but after visits to North Africa, and having seeing Moorish Spain at Toledo and Cordoba, he suddenly became enthusiastic about Islam. He did not become a Muslim, but looking at his Christianity, it occurred to him that Christ was in fact an encumbrance getting 'in the way' between him and God. I have never thought of this view before and would welcome anyone's thoughts.

Well, Aristotle,Pythagoras,Dante,Shakespeare,Virgil, Milton, Robert Graves,Rilke (and Khandro), plus thousands more do. Without a muse, an artist's life would be untenable.
//Without a muse, an artist's life would be untenable. //

Nonsense.
Khandro – Yes God existed all the time, long before anything else.

Naomi - ////King James: Then said they all, Are you then the Son of God? And he said unto them, “You say that I am.”///

If we take that being divinity then Bible’s language is so that there are tons known as god’s sons. Khandro pointed that out too.
Keyplus, and I agreed with him, but as usual you haven't read the posts properly.
Thanks for the link Naomi .It's all a load of bunk but under pain of death or torture I would adopt any religion . Why not ? They are all meaningless but between the two RC and Islam , Islam is less hypocritical they will kill you and that's it , whilst the RCs will kill you and then pray for your soul and ask forgiveness from their priests.
