kitchen heating

I have a small kitchen but it is very cold. There is a lot of draughts in the room. The extractor fan lets in a gale as does the tumble dryer as does the cat flap...any ideas how i can plug all the bits that cause a draught?

Is there any way of getting heating into my kitchen. I dont have any wall space or standing space. Is there any form of heating i can install under the cupboards? If so what would it be..could i connect it to the central heating system or would it be plugged into the electricity?

You could try a decent cat flap that should be draught free and temporary blanking covers for the fan and tumble dryer when not in use.

There are kickplate fan heaters that fit under the kitchen cabinets, cheapest to buy and install is the electric version but you can get them to connect to the central heating.

I have a large kitchen which is freezing, no radiator, I'm off to buy either a halogen (�15.00) oil filled (�15) or convector (�20.00) tomorrow from Kwiksave, just to get us over the cold spell. We lose a lot of heat via the draughts, door, window. But eventually mean to re sort the whole room, or so we keep saying, but for my guests at new year, and just to do the pots I'm getting one! Also some PVC sheeting from B&Q the size of your window stuck on with sticky velcro strips (from upholsterers) one strip on the sheet ,one on the window, works a treat. And is long lasting, and removable. We used it as secondary glazing (doesn't look cheap) in our old house, and it was great.

HI,

I have a cat flap which has small magnets which hold the flap shut but not too strong to let the cat in and out.

The cooker extractor has a spring loaded flap on the outside which does not let in any cold air.

My Tumble dryer has a condensor so does not need to have any outlet for the steam from wet clothes.

I have a small electric heater under the cupboards which is hardly ever used because it is not really needed, cost around �60 from MFI.
