firefox because less pop-ups altough you do get get them

Firefox, simply for all the stuff it can do that IE can't:

-Tabbed Browsing (although this will be in IE7)
-Extensions
-Themes
-Integrated search engines
-Works well with Thunderbird

And if your favourite page doesn't work so well in Firefox (God forbid!) then you can download an extension so that it'll always open in IE.

firefox has less pop-ups/spyware/virus' as it is far less widely used than explorer.once its userbase expands then all the negative stuff will increase including the inevitable security loop-holes.

Even when IE7 is out. IE is just a waste of time. Microsoft got millions to use it by using unfair tactics to knock other competitors (Netscare, Spyglass) out of the water.

and as bobjim says about certain pages not loading right in firefox, email the guys that run that website and tell them to code correctly, and not under Microsoft's rules.

Mattk: firefox has less popups simply because it blocks them. it has less security holes as you say because less people look for them than those that look for holes in IE. but even when it is almost as popular as IE, because it's open source, anyone can come along and inspect the code and find loop holes and fix them before any malicious damage is done. and if any are found by the bad guys first, then there will be many, many people working to fix the holes. you don't have to wait for a team over in Redmond to fix it for you.
