Milkman
32 Answers
Chap just knocked on the door and said "Local milkman".
We used to have a milkman when I was a kid , but we simply buy milk from Tesco now days in 6 pint containers.
The days of bottles of milk being left on the door step seem a life time ago.
Does anyone else still have a milkman ?

I buy groceries online from Tesco about once a month but the fruit goes off too quickly so I wish also there was someone with fruit that I could buy perhaps once a week. Some hopes!! I keep some milk and bread in the freezer but it would be nice to have it fresh.
We used to have a regular milkman in our old area of South London.....Keith....never had the heart to ever tell him to stop calling round really.....he was, and still is brilliant and always spot on time before breakfast....one of my sisters who is in the same area still, has him calling each day with her 2 pinta's. Usually came for his money on Saturday mornings and had a chat and cup of tea too.
I miss him.....but I did see him about a year ago when we were over my sisters for the day....doorbell rang.....and I answered it..... he was surprised and he gave me a big hug.
I love the local milkman.....one day hopefully he'll move to the south coast and i'll adopt him permenantly. :0)

we started having doorstep deliveries in 2006 when i had a hip replacement and couldn't drive for a while- at least i knew i'd be able to have a cup of tea. You can change your order up to 9pm online the night before, so if you desperately need something, it will be there the next morning. Ours is a milkwoman. It's more expensive than buying it in the supermarket, buy i guess you are paying for convenience
