i hope that Britain never has this problem, i am aware that there are many guns held by criminals here, it's mercifully low in comparison with USA, Obama will try and rein them in, but i honestly don't see how much things will change.

The problem is his latest measures would not have stopped the latest massacre of all those school kids. The guns used were owned by the killers Mother and she was quite a respectable citizen with no criminal record.

To arm teachers is not really the answer. Maybe a solution is to have a marksman in every school. When was the last time an Israeli passenger plane was hijacked? The reason terrorists avoid them is they have a plain clothed armed marshall in every plane to prevent it.
