another one is to spread marmite on the bottom pastry of a meat pie or quiche for a bit of extra flavour. marmite is my mate. x

it looks less than lovely but a spoonful mixed into dumplings before they are cooked helps the flavour.

A year or so ago, I reported on experience in trying to eat the vile stuff (I still shudder at the recollection)... didn't go well at all, but now I've found that one of our Canadian friends actually has a videotape of a bear that found the slimy brown jar that I had thrown in the river and wound up to the north of us... This says it all:
